Swapper Turns Reno Skills into a "New" Car

Mar 29th 2010, 16:53, by Swapsity

For Tina, swapping means saving big bucks. Through Swapsity, she traded a kitchen renovation for a 2000 Hyundai Sonata valued at $4,000 and now, Tina can't wait to swap again.

"It was like winning a lottery," she says.

Tina offered up kitchen renovations, including new floors, and she found a fellow swapper who had a car to trade and was in need of a new look for their home. Now a savvy swapper, she advises other members to be patient to find both the right deal and the right person to deal with. It also pays off to be clear about what you want and what you'll give in return.

"Take a few minutes to have a coffee and chat to the person you are swapping with so you can be sure that you both have an agreement," says Tina, adding that it can be helpful to write the details down to avoid potential misunderstandings.

Now, Tina is ready to swap again and is hoping to find a Swapsity member looking to rent out their cottage in exchange for flooring work.

We're starting to see more and more big-ticket items and services traded through Swapsity. It's great inspiration when posting item lists and WishLists. Think big!
