Eco Fashionista Swap Party!

The time has come, ladies. SwapSity will be hosting a fabulously fun fashion swap party! This is your opportunity to update your jewellery box and accessory drawer. It's all about having a fun time with fellow fashion lovers and giving your wallet a break. Put this event in your calendar and start searching for all of the swap-worthy items in your closet. Dig out the sunglasses, rings, brooches, and bracelets that have outlived their use and grab the hats or purses that you have one too many of. Do you craft your own jewellery or knit scarves? It can all be traded for funky, new fashion items. Swap and recycle among eco-conscious fashionistas, just like yourself. You're sure to score some fab fashion finds without breaking the bank and give your pre-loved items a new life. What more could a girl want?

How Will It Work?

Bring at least one piece of jewellery or one fashion accessory to trade. It's best to bring 5 various items. For every item you bring, you will receive one bartering token which will serve as your swap currency to exchange for another item. Item value should not exceed $30. For the sake of swapping simplicity, we'll assume that all items have an equal value and are equally barter-worthy!

When you arrive, we will record the number of items you've brought and hand you your tokens. All items will be placed on common tables. Once you have dropped off your pre-loved fashion accessories, be sure browse what's available and mingle with the other fashion lovers.

The swapping fun will commence around 11:30am. To ensure fairness, we'll pick names out of a hat so, one-by-one, each person will have their own time to select what they would like to take back. Each participant will be able to grab one item on their first round. Once everyone has picked an item, we will go on to round two, once again drawing names from a hat. In the last few rounds, it will be 'free for all', which means that everyone will have the liberty to take what they like at the same time!

If you have brought five items, you will be able to trade them for five of any item. It may be rings, scarves or sunglasses. Whatever piques your interest. Any leftovers will be donated to a charity. No cash transactions ladies, just pure swapping bliss!

What Can I Swap?

You can bring necklaces, pendants, rings, brand new earrings, scarves, belts, gloves, shoes, pins, bags, handbags, hats, ladies fragrances (unopened bottles), ladies watches, unopened make-up, fashion brooches, ladies wallets, and other fashion accessories. Here are a few swap examples to give you an idea what can be traded:

2 pairs of shoes		sunglasses + brand new perfume
handbag + 2 necklaces		belt + scarf + brand new make-up

Swapping Guidelines

We have laid out a few simple guidelines to keep the event running smoothly:

1. Bring at least 1 item to swap. It can be a piece of jewellery or a fashion accessory. It's best not to bring more than 25 items.
2. The maximum value of the item should be about $30. We encourage you not to bring branded or one-of-a-kind items, precious stones or fashion accessories that exceed $30 unless you're willing to part with them and swap them for a lesser value item.
3. Items must be in good condition. The litmus test is to ask yourself if you would be happy with this item if someone else offered it to you.
4. Please don't bring used earrings, used hair accessories, opened make-up, used perfume bottles, counterfeit branded products or clothes. If we feel the item is unsuitable, we may not be able to include it in the swap.
5. One item equals one token. You will be able to take the same token value in items that you have brought.
6. Keep in mind that all swaps are final.
7. Doors open at 11:00am. Please try to drop off all your items by 11:25am at the latest. The swapping will start around 11:30am. We don't want to leave you out, so come early!
